Our Submission Window for Issue 6 is Open!

Ragaire Literary Magazine is accepting new writing and cover art proposals until 15 July 2026 for possible inclusion in Issue 6 (or until our maximum number of submissions for consideration has been met.) 

The best way to see the type of writing we love to publish is to buy a past issue, which you can do here. We always appreciate the support of our readers.

New Unpublished Writing :

We welcome poems, short stories and creative non-fiction in English from Ireland and abroad.

• SHORT STORIES of at least 1000 and no more than 3,000 words in length. Please use the Google Form here.
• CREATIVE NON-FICTION of at least 1000 and no more than 3,000 words in length. Please use the Google Form here.
• POETRY: Up to three poems, each poem no more than 40 lines. Please use the Google Form here.

Editors do not have access to any author identifying information during the reading and selection process. 

New Artwork :

COVER ART: We welcome cover art from any artist living in or from the island of Ireland. Please use the Google Form here.

Guidelines :

We are not accepting works in translation at this time.

All writing submitted must be unpublished and the author’s own work.

We will not accept work that was created using artificial intelligence.

The author’s name must not appear anywhere within the document uploaded; all submissions are read anonymously by the editorial team.

We accept simultaneous submissions. If we select your work, we will first ask for confirmation that it is still unpublished.

We aim to contact everyone with a decision within four months after the Open Call ends.

We strongly advise submitting early. We will accept submissions until the submission closure date or until our maximum number of submissions for consideration has been met.

Please note that once submitted, a piece cannot be altered other than to be withdrawn.

Contributors must be 18 years old and above.

Payment :

Thanks to the generous support of The Arts Council of Ireland for 2026, Ragaire is pleased to offer €150 per story/essay and €80 per poem selected for publication. All contributors will also receive a complimentary copy of the issue. For cover art, we will negotiate a payment.

We ask for first publishing rights for any pieces selected for inclusion in the magazine, and additionally for rights to post select pieces on our website.

Copyright remains with the original author/artist at all times.
