Our artistic remit is to find and promote literary work that contains something different, be it in its content, structure or form. We are looking for writing that explores the ideas, stories, poems and essays that will bring our readers down the paths and roads less taken. We want to hear voices that are unique and vibrant, that opens our readers’ eyes to the world in new ways; work that shows our world in all its natural strangeness, its difficulties, its beauty.
To see exactly what we like to publish at Ragaire, please purchase a copy of our wonderful Issue 1 on our website www.ragmag.ie or in many independent bookshops such as Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop and Bell Book and Candle in Galway city or Raven Books and The Winding Stairs in Dublin as well as others.
All submissions are read by the editors blind to the author. It means that a piece submitted by a talented emerging writer who is looking for their first publishing opportunity will be given the same attention as a more established author.
On our website you will find wonderful professional video recordings of contributors reading their work at the launch of Issue 1. We were delighted and very grateful to have training and funding support from Gréasán na Meán Skillnet for Ragaire’s debut issue launch event. We would also like to thank GKMedia, The PorterShed, Galway County Council and The Insurance Institute Galway for their support of Issue 1 and our amazing launch event.
